German

<----This is the statue on the front steps of the Protestant church

Today was our first day of classes. I have to admit, I was sort of omitting this part of my European Adventure from my thoughts... I pictured traveling, dancing, interesting people, good food, beautiful views and amazing memories- NOT International business/Marketing/and Hospitality!

Nonetheless, DCT was in full business attire, so I had no choice but to push forward in my pant suit (which didn't fit b/c I forgot all of mine in the US). The classes were like the first day of most classes at Johnson & Wales: Review of the syllabi and a cheesy, yet helpful "Ice-Breaker".

Though I am dreading the case studies and market reviews, I do think that these classes will be interesting and that I will learn a lot about the industry that I will soon be entering.

After class let out, I went to lunch until I was asked to leave the cafeteria due to the fact that I was not wearing my suit jacket. It was okay though, I was finished with my meal (perhaps it was divine intervention helping me out on my goal of shedding some lb's while I'm over here!)

There was a 3 hour lull in between lunch and our German lesson for the day where I squeezed in a very-much-needed nap. I took the second-last of my Loritabs because my mouth is still aching, so that put me right out...

The German professor is so cute! She is a little lady that lives across the lake and up the mountain. She works as a baker and laundry-woman for the Ice Hotel! The lesson was 3-hours long today. Over the next 3 weeks, we have to fit in 20 hours of "Survival German" into our schedule- that should be interesting. I learned why every woman in The Sound of Music had the same first name! "Fraulounda"...That's just like saying "Miss", or Mrs. (Although now they just say "Frau" because the perviously mentioned is derogatory (It literally means "Little Lady").

I am frau Kamke!

After that was dinner where I neglected my beef and pollenate(sp?) and focused more on the delicious salad bar option that DCT offeres. The freshly-baked bread is also quite delectable. Though my Pilate's instructor warned me about eating bread, I feel as though she must have never tried this bread or she would understand the problem of "cutting carbs" out of my diet!

On to the computer lab to hang out with the other students with nothing to do in this lovely mountain town of Vitznau followed by a killer Turbo-Jamming session with my roomates(I peer-pressured them into it), and the day has come to an end.

Note: Today I got a job offer in Hilton Head (where I have my heart set on working when I arrive back from this trip), so I am praying and thinking about the logistics of actually taking the offer and making the move to South Carolina...

Auf Wiedersehen!

Here are some photo's of my room and the views from it as requested =)
